Sudheer Koneru, Chairman - SumTotal Systems - India, Batch XI

This course develops emotional intelligence in participants which is proven to be a core requirement for successful leaders. It not only helps individuals in having satisfying careers but will fundamentally change the way you relate to yourself and your life. It helps create harmonious relationships in personal lives as well.

For me personally it has given the tools to continue my self-discovery process. It has helped me to experientially realise that all the power in the universe comes from ‘living in the moment’ – not the past or the future. Letting go of the past was a hard process. The course and Sujata helped me through this journey.

Mallikarjun Bhat, Project Manger - Cognizant, Batch XI

When I joined this course I had different set of expectations from the course. I joined this course for Sujata and the team's reputation and a close friend’s advice. After completing the course I benefited more than I had expected.

Instead of judging others, I now pick up emotional charge in what they speak, and I am some times able to suspend my judgement in what they say or see. This skill, I believe, is leading to meaningful and helpful dialogues with family, friends and team mates at work. My wife feels that I am now much more caring and understanding towards her than before and she says my ability to handle dynamics of our relationship has gone up many folds.

The course has taught me a framework to better understand myself through the changing events in life, resultant emotions in me, others behaviour towards me and my own behaviour towards others. I am using this learning in enriching my professional life by being genuine and assertive about my feelings to my bosses and developing a greater understanding of their thoughts and feelings in the situations that impact our careers. I started to see some benefits already and I am moving towards a life that now happens in self-awareness and conscious choices.

Meera Marthi, Former VP - Product Development, Apps Associates,
Batch XI

It is hard to describe the tangible benefits of this course. This course is a fantastic journey into the inner self. It teaches you that it is OK to make mistakes in life, learn from them, accept change and work positively with your emotions.

The most important lesson this course has given me is the gift of being empathetic. It is empathy that led me to deal with my daughters' insecurities with a new school in a new place. If I would not have learnt about empathy it would have become impossible for me to deal with the situation.

The course has also taught me to deal with my relationships better. I have become less rigid, more open and less judgemental about others. I have learnt that the myraid of emotions one goes through has to be FELT and not just dealt with. Instead of being intelluctual about our emotions, we learn to feel them, become aware of them.

The day I was selected to attend this course has been a turning point in my life. If necessary, I would do it all over again. Sujata is so passionate about teaching that one is in awe of her diversity of knowledge. She is extremely learned and has really shaped up the course in accordance to the needs of the current times where human relationship is getting to be a mere commodity."

Nagesh Battula, CEO, Fountainhead Design, Batch XI

When I joined the class, I had no plans or expectations of what I will take away. Psychology was alien subject to me, but I had a feeling that I knew the ultimate truth of my life path and how to attain that as well. Having been exposed to the works of many spiritual thinkers, I had a fair knowledge of the concepts of ‘being in the moment’ and ‘is-ness` . However my personality was very complex - with one side of me having the knowledge and desire for spiritual elation and the other side engaged in living with the facts of my life. This duality had existed in my mind for a long time.

In the course of these classes, my belief system was mirrored to me. I found that my knowledge and conditioning were making it hard to practice empathy. Initial classes made me realise where the problem is, which was causing the duality. Subsequent classes helped me actualise my learning. In the middle of my actualisation a miraculous self-realisation happened one day, which is beyond words to articulate (I don’t think I have enough skills to articulate).

If I have to say what this class is to me I would say “it’s an unlearning class”.

Krishnamoorthy, Batch X
Years of conditioning made me believe that it was wrong to feel jealous, wrong to get angry, wrong to feel insecure, etc. In my classes I learnt, that every emotion by definition comes to go. The longer you resist the emotion, the longer it lingers. An effective way to emotion management would be to embrace the emotion in its entirety, and its impact would just dissipate over time. Staying in the "here and now" (moment of awareness) would liberate you from the battle against various emotions (which I was going through earlier). As I digested this insight I felt a deep sense of liberation as I had learnt to come to terms with my emotions. It helped me overcome my insecurities and inhibitions and in the process I gained a deep understanding of my self. Reflecting on my experience, I believe that emotions will always be present. Emotions are the "spice" in our lives. But I have realized that understanding emotions, coming to terms by managing them is crucial to a happy and effective life.

Chandana Naik, Former Course Co-ordinator, St. Francis College, Batch V

I found the course really useful. It gave me hands-on training in counselling and has helped me professionally and personally. I was able to work on my self-concept and self-image by looking into my past and redefining it.

Today I work in a prestigious college and conduct various programs and workshops because of the training I got from you. It gave me the confidence and the skills to be a professional counsellor. It also made me aware of the responsibility we hold as mental health professionals and the various avenues open to us. The course was just great and I'm so glad I was a part of it.

Arshia Ahmed Ayub, Henry Martin Institute, Batch III

It's not easy to put into words the impact of this course. On the simplest of levels I trained as a counsellor, the training covering all aspects that would make me a thorough professional. The course methodology was extremely effective - not to mention a first time experience to such an approach, as it was not dryly taught as theory. The exercises helped us to learn the theory but in a practical, hands-on way. Learning of material went hand in hand with introspecting and learning more about ourselves.

It was through the course that I found my voice, overcoming a fear of public speaking, and above all finding the direction I was looking for career-wise. Not only did I become a professional psychological counsellor, but it was through this training that I was able to become an effective facilitator in the area of conflict resolution, as I had already learned and become adept at the basic skills needed.
